Hello there, I am at wits end with trying to run the game Stronghold Crusader. These are the following things that I have tried to do and the results they have brought me:1) Run normally - result: 'Please login with administrator privileges and try again' message popped up.The thing is that I am on the administrators account (I checked that 4 times, and there are no other accounts but mine on this PC), when I tried to right-click on the game icon and click the option ' Run as administrator' absolutely nothing happened, thegame did not launch, no error showed etc.2)I then tried to change it's compatibility. I right-clicked, properties, compatibility, Run in compatibility mode.
Result: When it asked me to try and run the program to check if it worked, again there was no reaction from the game.So then one by one I manually tried to run it on different windows compatibility modes (Windows XP/ ME/ 7/8 etc.) but the result was exactly the same, meaning no reaction.3) I tried to get help online, after searching I found out that I need to enable 'Direct Play' so I took the following steps: ( Go to Control Panel, then find TurnWindows features on or off, and under Legacy Components check DirectPlay, and then hit OK)Result: The direct play was already turned on. Even after I tried to turn it off, then back on, reboot, try to run the game, the game refused to be run.4) Another solution that I have tried is to try and run it via the program DOSbox. I followed a tutorial as i'm not experienced with it but the message that popped up when I tried to run the game goes as follows: 'This program cannot be run in DOS mode'This is driving me crazy, and if there is any other genius solution then I am all ears.I shall await your fast reply.original title: Running Stronghold Crusader on Windows 10. I would like to mend my previous reply as I have contacted firefly studios,On their support website there was a topic about technical problems with launching the game from CD on windows 7 - 10.It re-directed me to a patch for Stronghold Crusader, (HD) and Extreme. Hello I am needing assistance launching stronghold crusader hd.It was working on my windows 10 computer before I reformatted it.I've reinstalled it now and when I go to launch it sits for a second and closes with no error messages.When I try to open it from root files(and ran as admin) it prompts 'The application was unable to start correctly (0x000022). Click OK close the application'I've tried reinstalling it but same thing, after googling I found something about changing my resolution to 1600x900 and deleting the stronghold crusader folder in my documents but that also didn't work.Any suggestions would be appreciated.
