Each Smart Paint application is a new adjustment layer; a layer mask defines the area where the effect is applied (see Chapter 8 for more on working with layers).To apply a Smart Paint effect:. With an image open in Full Edit mode, select the Smart Brush tool from the toolbox ( ) or press F. TIPWhen you apply a new Smart Paint to an image, a new selection is created. To switch easily between multiple Smart Paint areas, click the layer pin that appears. Right-clicking the pin brings up options for refining the area, deleting the effect, or hiding the selection border.To edit a Smart Paint selection area:. Once you start painting, the brush is in Add to Selection mode so additional areas you paint are added to the selection. To apply the Smart Paint to a different area of the image, click the New Selection button and begin painting.
